As per believe Shri Kanak Bhawan was gifted by Shri Ram’s stepmother Mata Kaikyi to Sitaji as muh dikhayee after marriage of Sita ji and Ram ji. This was a private palace of Sita and Ram ji, no one was allowed to enter this palace. After returning from Lanka only Hanuman ji found a place in Angan. As per belief earlier this building was made with gold. Chakravarti Samrat Vikramaditya had built a temple at this place.  Later the current temple was built by the Queen of indian state Orchha, Teekamgadh, MP Maharani Vrishbhanu Kuvari. In this temple there are three forms Sita and Ram ji existing in the main area. 

As per stories after killing Jarasandha, Shri Krishna and Rukmani ji stayed at this place for a few days. There are three pairs of “Sita Ram ji” is there, the biggest idol was established by Maharani Vrishbhanu Kuvari, the medium idols was established by Maharaja Vikramaditya ji and the smallest idols was giving by Shri Krishna ji when he visited ayodhya with Rukmani ji after killing jarasandh. As per Visitors you can feel the holiness and existence of Sita ram ji in this huge temple. This is one of the must visiting temples.
